mon week-end, en bref.

A conversation I had to summarize my weekend...

- ...Wait a sec, was that your first puke in France?
- You know, I think it was! At least my first public puke.
- Hurray! You should celebrate. Or make a wish.
- A wish! What should I wish for?
- A nice, charming, smart and honest French guy in your life.
- Nah, I think I'd rather have a winning lotto ticket.
- Do you even play the lotto?
- No.
- Then that'll for sure never happen!
- So then my chances of either coming true are pretty much the same.
- Hum. Well... Ok. Touché.

Also, this:

dernières nouvelles

I was told while I was back in AZ that I don't update this thing enough. So, I'm making an effort with this one.

Things in France are going alright. Besides the fact that someone at work is using my desperation for money to his/her advantage... It's ok. I can't complain about the extra hours, even if they're being forced down my throat. They're going towards a certain trip I'm taking at the end of May to see a friend get married. And that's cool.

I've had the chance to get to know some nice people, through friends of friends and I'm really grateful for those opportunities. I'm toying with the idea of joining a hip-hop class with a friend which will be painfully embarrassing for the first several lessons I imagine. But hey, if I can rock out to Skee-lo in the comfort of a mu-mu and my ipod solo in my apartment, why not in front of a bunch of people, right? There are so many possible answers I could give to that rhetorical question, but I'll refrain.

On of the few downsides of meeting people is getting asked the same questions over and over -- what are you going to do with your life after France? Hmm... Who said anything about there being an "after-France"? I'm sort of kidding, but sort of not. Who knows.

I wish I were traveling more, that's my only gripe about life at the moment and it's frankly not even that good. I hope to get the chance to visit people in Bordeaux and/or Grenoble soon and maybe even take a trip to visit a friend in Switzerland. On verra.

To sum up, here's a picture of me with my flat kid, Temoso. He's from a village in Swaziland and it's my job to take him around Toulouse with my camera. Awkward pictures ensue.

yep, he's wearing a Gucci shirt. the kid's classy.
